I lived in Israel for a year in the early 80's - it was a fine welcoming multi cultural country then. I visited back in January of this year. It is a fine multi cultural and diverse country. There are political and religious nutcases there as there are here. Cross the border into Syria and Egypt and there are equally fine and diverse countries.

The common thorn that divides all countries is Religion and Politics. People across the world want to party cooperate with each other and be happy. Politics and religion always pisses on the party.

Ordinary people being screwed by politics and religion just about hits the nail on the head.
