Getting giddy now, can’t wait for season to start, I’m sure there will be moans as usual.

    Bring on L1 love it

Parkgate on Saturday means we’re getting closer

I won’t be going with the winning expectation to this game, first competitive game for new/old players so anything can happen.

Just hope we don’t do a Brentford for Warnes sake

"I'd like to see that right back, a goalie and a cb signed now to give us a decent chance" - hear, Hear !

And a bit more "Quality" spend the Vaulks money - the one quality signing we've had in years gone and we're no way near to the, is it, "optimism" of the OP?

Has Ajayi not been a quality signing?

The big difference at this level is teams need multiple chances to score goals. 5 clear cut chances and they may score 2 for example. That doesn't happen in the Championship, strikers/midfielders put away chances much more consistently.

The way I see this season compared to last season is we'll score more goals but concede less.

For me that suggests we will be there or thereabouts.

"Has Ajayi not been a quality signing?"

A consistent full season away from a quality signing because he still scares me when he gets closed down and his distribution is erratic.

League one may see him under even more pressure.

S if he has a good deason next season he'll have been a good signing?

SO - if he has a good season next season he'll have been a good signing?

Ans/ Yes IF he has a good season?

    He needs consistency.

He's far too erratic....and in league one he'll get caught more in the ball.

    Championship quality forwards- mistakes punished!

League one irritable nibbling kids or journey-men knocking 5hit out of him.

At times last season we were up against £20 million plus players with a squad that came up through the play offs. Parachute payments boil my piss. They reward failure and mean the promoted clubs don’t get an even playing ground.
The players this year look like they have the quality to challenge again. Warne will get them fit. But I still think we lack a good tactician from the coaching staff.
Big hearts and busting lungs are great in L1. Quality is what counts in the championship. All this good person thing has to stop. I don’t care if a striker has burned an orphanage down if he gets 25 goals.
