I wouldn't get too carried away with this. I was at the match when he played against us for Bradford PA. Unlike Warney, I didn't particularly identify him as a "world beater". What I DID notice second half was that Mattock seemed to be moving slower than anybody else on the pitch, and we looked poor at defending crosses - that's all!

Mattock was struggling last season, we should’ve kept Purrington imo.
