They aren't as fit as they were prior to the closed season but they are not unfit and not vastly overweight as that would result in some heavy fines. Nor will I change my mind on eejits spouting crap on FB when they can't even fathom out what formation we are using. Rangers have already got competitive games under their belts. that will be an advantage for them.

Have I missed anything from my earlier post that might get changed when I have seen the full 90?

With regard to the full backs, I have said in other threads that both go forward too often leaving us with a back 2. That is, IMO, tactically inept. That they keep doing it indicates that Cocu (as was Lampard) is quite happy with that. I'm not. One goes up, the other stays back. Simple. A full back's 1st priority must still be a defensive one.
I'm not surprised so called eejits(your words not mine) can't make up their minds what system are playing . I've watch it four times and not got a clue what system we were supposed to be playing Can't see the argument that other teams a fitter than us . They were in the USA getting fit for two weeks I don't know if you've missed anything that might get changed when you watch the 90 minutes . You can try seeing how many different systems you can spot You can try telling me why Lawrence is in the team or why the manager thinks Bennett is a midfielder

Don’t despair guys. In today’s DT Cocu is reported as hoping to make additions and there are eleven days left before the window closes.
We do have injuries and the defensive limitations of Bogle and Malone are no different from this time last year.
Sadly the days of season changing autumn signings (eg Saunders and Stimac) have long gone and the ‘windows’ do lead to more urgency and panic but there’s time yet.
Liverpool have had a crap pre season too but it’s only about eight weeks since they were crowned Champions of Europe...don’t suppose their fans have given up just yet.

RA don't think people have given up . Think we only have two injuries of players who would get into the team Holmes and Marriott. I've watched enough pre season matches to know results don't mean anything ,but performance are an indicator , especially when your down to your last one before the season opener

Yep, I know mista and my comment was a bit tongue in cheek...but I think only Dowell started against both Girona and Rangers and a fully fit Wisdom and Davies will, imo, make a difference along obviously with Holmes and Marriott who both seem a tad injury prone.
The friendlies have, again imo, been all about building fitness and Cocu finding out what our strengths and weakness are.
Rangers have had a particularly good pre-season and are further down the line than us so maybe there’s been some overreaction.
I’ll be surprised and disappointed if there are no additions before Huddersfield or the window closing but I admit it would be nice to see some positive news as far as fresh faces are concerned.

RA of course your right it is building fitness But surely your not going to get fit if your not putting the effort in ie Lawrence and Zoon how many chances do that pair want As for Wisdom and Davies i won't be holding my breath for either of them Davies looked as though he's ready to retire against Gerona .Wisdom has no pre season so he won't be available before November . Sure we will have some positive news soon , hopefully three or four coming in . We managed to get some dross out the rest should be gone this time next year

Did you go on Sunday? I never made it due to other commitments but Lawrence and Zoon are a real problem. Only getting secondhand views but they are not showing any promise are they?
Real shame, I watched Zoon a few times at Brentford and was really pleased when we signed him but it's just not worked. Lawrence is a myth, one game in 5 or 6 don't cut it. If these are our best options going into the season.. Hmmm.
Is there any sign of these 3 or 4 in? You are closer to the club than me but I am not hearing anything down here that makes me feel positive.

Cocu has said the club is talking to players with a view to getting them in. They are simply keeping names very close to their chest. So close that the press seems to have stopped linking us with just about everybody who ever kicked a ball.......... If those transfers happen I will be pleased that we first found out when the club announced it as opposed to it being all over the press and the internet rumour machine.

My worry about Lawrence and Zoon is that they’ve looked good elsewhere. Zoon looked good, apparently, at Brentford and I seem to remember Bielsa chasing him for Leeds. Lawrence was highly regarded at Leicester and still does the business for Wales but they’re just hit and miss for us at best.
Likewise with Marriott, almost ever present the season before we signed him but curiously unavailable for most of the second half of last season.
So what happens when they come to us...with Lawrence I think it’s a positional thing...wasted and demoralised out wide...with the others it’s a mystery.

Angry no I didn't go I paid and watched it on Ramsplayer Yes your right about Lawrence a talent wasted. I've got to stop talking about him it's becoming an obsession. I was pleased when we signed Zoon but it's not worked out and doubt it will no .He had a cameo in the Wembley final and did ok There is a good winger in there but we've not seen it .As for signings the people I usually hear from are saying nothing very tight lipped ,Not sure if that's good or bad ,but there is a lot of competition for the same players Pretty sure we will get some this week though I've heard Pennington a centre half from Everton has been seen at Moorfarm

RA yes that's fair summing up Lawrence was great against WBA at P/park ,three weeks in the final he was non existent ,not like he's a young kid who will be inconsistent ,he's a senior player and a full international Promise I won't mention him again only if he plays well
