60th Anniversary.

This coming season is my 60th supporting RUFC, started going to mainly reserve games and odd 1st team games in 1959, i was 8yr old, my mate took me he was 13 so ive got a lot to thank him for, enjoyed every minute. Plenty of highs and lows over them years, i could write a book thicker than BIBLE on the adventures of following RUFC over that period. So my aim in life now is to one day in the future be the oldest Miller still attending games LOL. U.T.F.M.

As a coincidence this coming season is also my 60th anniversary of watching the Millers.
Memories fading but I can remember some really good times through the 60’s.

One year more than you Brin. My Dad first took me in 1966 to try and get me into the forthcoming World cup
However think he will take some topping.
He's just turned 93 and poor health means he's not renewed his ST this season but he reckons his Dad first took him when he was around 8 years old so that would be 1934 !

Would love to claim he subsequently went to every home game but alas no.
However he is responsible for the current 3 generations of Miller's ranging from 61 - 4 all ST holders

Some times when you're sat with head in hands thinking "WHY ?" it makes you wonder .............

I went to my first game at Millmoor in 1956.
My dad wasn't interested in football but a neighbour took me to watch a reserve game (no idea who it was against).
I can remember standing on the sleepers in the Railway End and when the players ran out the smell of liniment was overwhelming.
I was transfixed and that was the moment I fell in love with the Millers.
The addiction is still as strong even though I'm now 70 😊.

Casper them early 60s F.A.Cup games were incredible, surely you can remember them you must have been in your 20s.

Brin, wouldnt call it a record pal, there will be a hell of a lot of people top my years easily, im only a beginner compared to some i know. But watch out im coming to get you.
