Not convinced that looking at trialists is going to turn up any gems. As regards centre backs - I hope we aren't going to end up in the usual situation ie read out "Couldn't quite get the deal over the line"/ "We will learn from our mistakes" statement on deadline day yet again.

At least PW is aware we definitely need more recruiting for the defence and the club are putting bids in on different players.
PW also realises atm we have a small squad.

My guess Pierce from Mansfield ? Is 30 though ! But got in the team of the season last year ? One or two teams were sniffing round last week and this may have alerted the Millers ?

Millerstale, I mentioned this player quite a bit ago and we should have gone in then. League 2 player so wouldn't have cost the earth and he could well have been well set in the side by now.

Of course Warne was always going to be looking for a more classier player but, IF we do go back for this lad it looks as though it's just second best scraping the barrel as a last resort. I did like this player's commitment though when I saw him in the FA Cup tie Mansfield were in last season.
