    Probably get slated for this but I don’t think we are equipped to progress any further in Europe.

    Imagine if we did manage to get to the group stages,Main,Wright and Wilson playing every Sunday to keep our best team for Thursdays.

    Fvck that.

    I agree.
    And I could add a few other names to your list.
    Ability wise & tactically wise, QR3 seems to be the ceiling, and we “rest” 4 or 5 & can’t beat sh1te like St Mirren.
    How f****g depressing

    And not a chance we’re beating Rijeka by three goals with Main up front.

    A good savvy manager could rotate that squad and beat St Mirren. They, by their own admissions are 4/5 weeks behind, struggled to sign players and have stepped up from part time management. Now, fair enough, they might struggle and probably will struggle for most of the season and we will finish comfortably above them but that's no excuse for today's performance.

    Great post, but McInnes has NEVER mastered the art of squad rotation. He usually, finally, discovers his preferred formation and personnel around about Oct/Nov then proceeds to flog the same 11 into the ground for the rest of the season.

    I’ve never understood why fans would not want to utilise squad rotation, no brainier in my book.

    It’s clear that playing in Europe is having a negative impact at the weekend, players are clearly drained. Is that a fitness issue? Doesn’t Derek trust his own squad? Is that down to poor recruitment? Why didn’t Wilson and Devlin start today?

    Fair scunnered with that p1sh today

    I think it is a weak mindset issue - both manager and players. Look at celtic and sevco, both had similar standard teams to play away from home in Europe, both made more or less the same number of changes as we did yet they score 11 goals between them (arguably against better teams than we played). Yes they have better quality players to come in than we do with their larger squads, but the big difference is they know they have to win, are sent out to attack accordingly by their managers. Compare that with our safety first p1sh against the team that is more than likely going to be relegated this season.

    There’s a big difference between the players they can bring in and what we can because are squad is made up of players who would struggle to get into other teams.

    Ok maybe rest McGinn as he is getting on but he should never have rested him and Gallagher.

    Gallagher should be fitter than anyone in the team considering he has came from the states,there season started in March I believe?

    Resting the pair of them along with Cosgrove being out was always going to end in disaster.

    When the squad rotation means bringing in Championship or at best bottom 3 Premiership players like Main & Wright, you’re asking for trouble.
    Just how many chances to impress is Wright going to get (& not take)?
    Curtis Main is hopeless too.
    Not fast. Not good in the air. Not skilful. Doesn’t score many goals. WTF does he actually do?

    A Darren Mackie impression?

    Main = 287 games & 48 Goals

    Mackie = 372 games & 69 Goals

    Really not much difference between them going by those stats and we know Mackie scored some important or funny goals (Dnipro or robbing Douglas in his box @ Parkhead) but even so....absolutely afwul return for a Striker, im sure there are Midfielders or Defenders with bette rwcoring records!

    Just for comparison... Considine = 486 games & 31 Goals.

    Says it all really.
