    What the Dickens !

"Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen pounds nineteen shillings and six pence, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery."

Except in football rich benefactors put their hard earned cash in to keep down the price for its loyal customers and provide the best entertainment possible - and if they dont stump up enough they are roundly slagged off by those very same subsidised customers.

Ah, yes. It was proper cut and paste in those days. Not all this Googling rubbish. However, if you had actually consulted the novel you could have avoided misquoting Micawber.

If they do survive no one has mentioned further points deductions which surely must come into play to protect the integrity of the other teams in the league?

    Or am I missing something?

There can’t be any possibility of other clubs who keep their house in order, getting relegated instead of them ?

Just on Sky Sports News Bury expelled from EFL.

So sorry for the true fans it could have been us without Tony Stewart.

    Thank you Mr Stewart.

Sickening to think that just a fortnight of Alexis Sanchez's wages would have probably been plenty to save Bury FC

He was proper but not fit.. He had a grade 2 hammy pull.

Trying to in inject a bit of humour into proceedings

I recall our best ever unbeaten run (17 games) ended at Bury in 1970/71 when we lost 2-1.

Mind you considering my two previous visits ended in 6-1 and 5-2 defeats, it wasn’t a bad result.

Memories are great but we have the luxury of the possibility of making many more good ones, unlike Bury. Many people (particularly fans of the smaller clubs) live for the game and my heart goes out to them.
