It's never going to change, independence or not.

I'm 60 years old and have never had the opportunity to vote for my head of state.

The fight will remain between those who want a republic and those who believe that god gets to choose our leader.

"Born to reign over us" my a'rse.

Yep. I still remind people that borders are just where the last scrap took place between rival aristocratic thieves, with their in-thrall peasant armies in place as arrow/spear/cannon fodder, before they got fed up scrapping and ****ed off back to their grand estates, won through violence and deception, where the self-same serfs were exploited, starved and kicked around as vassals to the criminals they've come to accept as their lords and masters (and 'betters'). I'm having no part of it, thanks.

The answer to Sectarianism is clearly Independence. No Union to defend or indeed condemn. Sectarianism has been fostered and cultivated by the British state as their well used tool "divide and conquer" its now uncontrollably immersed in the West of Scotland my argument is remove the root cause and it will wither on the branch its origins lie in Northern Ireland break that link and that the first big step. Of course I could just be naïve
    A very enlightened post

We get 4 for the price 1.

We extricate ourselves from the shackles of the Union and yoke of English oppression, we remove the Queen and her tax guzzling kin from all the privileges they help themselves to (and sack Balmoral Castle in the process) and we negotiate our way back into the European Union.

Finally though the coup de grace, we remove all symbols and institutions of the Union and turn Ibrox to rubble and the team that play there into the history books.

    Viva la revolución

We just need to be careful though that London rule doesn't turn into Glasgow rule...

Careful there! Independence, if and when it happens, would in my view be financially ruinous to Scotland with the likes of Nicola Sturgeon at the helm. There is currently a massive notional deficit in Scotland (larger than Romania) which, year-on-year, would lead to mounting and unsustainable debts with no one to bail us out.

Shetland could easy bail them out with your oil money stash. If only Aberdeen had the foresight to have done the same.

As for independence it wouldn't be a picnic and taxes would most certainly go up. However life under uber huns like Johnson is grim even more so for jocks and if brexit ever goes ahead things will get even worse. If Scotland could get fast tracked back into the EU post independence that would be worth thinking about.

Then again Johnson may well be out of number ten soon enough and with Labour in power and disaster averted staying with London rule would become much more palatable.

The implication of course being that we currently rely on the English to bail us out.

I think you'll find that you will have the choice to vote for a right wing Scottish party, although my advice to them would be not to call themselves the Scottish Conservative and nae Unionist party.

If it's Labour or Tory there's only one choice. The Tories are the defacto hun party so voting for them is incompatible with supporting Aberdeen.

Milne is partially to blame for that and what's more galling is he's happy about it.

    Absolutely unforgivable.
What's unforgivable is you going on like that - its just pandering to the Sevconians and their same club delusions.

Sevco is a pathetic tribute act, nothing more, nothing less & the commerical imperatives of Doncaster et al whereby they can happily just try to flagrantly ignore the basic facts of company law in order to propogate the myth of old firm rivalry purely for cash purposes do not change that one bit - and we should never let them forget that.

So knock it off with the same club pish eh, there's a good chap.
