Anderson, Ross and Antionazzi as the three scorers in a 3-0 win
As most will know, Aberdeen withdrew from the reserve league and have now entered a new format.
Today the Aberdeen Reserves will start out in a brand-new series of friendly matches.
Along with Hibs, Celtic, Rangers, as well as English sides Brentford and Huddersfield Town, the young Dons will play each side home and away throughout the course of the season.
Paul Sheerin’s side welcome English Championship side Huddersfield Town north today. The game against The Terriers will take place at Glebe Park, kick off at 12.30pm.
The friendly matches are for sides under the age of 21, although the rules allow three overage players and one overage goalkeeper to be used. Aberdeen can also field any of their young players who are currently out on loan.
Paul Sheerin commented “It is something a bit different for us and something we are all looking forward to.
“Coming up against the English sides was appealing, playing against a different style of football and seeing how they work.”
After the fixture today, Aberdeen are then due to play Brentford FC on Sunday 29th September 2019, kick off 4.00 pm at the Balmoral Stadium, Cove.

They did say that we would have to play our European games at Dundee.
I suppose they were half right with Brechin.
As for the idea, what a load of s'hite.
Reserves were better when they were at Pittodrie and you got in for free on your ST. Used to do it frequently for years. I did it upuntill the u21 shipped out a few years back
Dennis Wyness banging them in was a frequent site when I was a younger. As was Derek Stillie in goals.
Colin MacRonald, Malcolm Kpedepko, Colin Milne, Greg McCulloch all blasts from the past
My Da always took me to the reserves when I was a loon.
Years later I was lucky enough to watch half the Gothenburg Greats make their way as loons in the reserves.
Brechins nae use to onybody.
That's how I got there too. My da, my bro and me
One of my favourite grounds in Scotland but aye nae use. When the u21s first left Pittodrie it was Balmoor. Also nae use to anyone. There has been Montrose* and Forfar* too for the youths. Then Sevcoves plastic tip* .
*Slag off plastic pitches but have used three in the past for the kids
Ump**** disillusionment. What the hell are they doing playing at Brechin.
Will they play games at the training ground when it opens?
