I am totally astounded that some of you lot just do not see what has just happened and just how serious this verdict was, no matter because when it effects you, which it will, I will take great pleasure in hearing about how you feel you have been wronged.

Yep to be fair it's there, but you didn't go the whole hog. Post before you said split decision. Have a bit more courage in your convictions and you could go far in the law game!!!! 😉

I'm gobsmacked that it was a unanimous decision. That is unusual in itself and demonstrates just how much the court disapproved of BoJo's action.

Does anyone else not think the decision was politically motivated?

Yes but of course such actions would never be contemplated by such upstanding pillars of society even though they are human beings

Yes, I do not think the decision was politically motivated.

The court consisted of 11 senior judges. Could anyone seriously think that they would unanimously agree to disregard their view of the legal position and decide the case on political grounds.

BoJo rode roughshod over Parliament and took an extreme course. The court acted as a guardian of our parliamentary democracy and broke new (and arguably extreme) legal ground to respond.

I think it is regrettable that the parliamentary inertia on Brexit is going to continue, but it would have done irrespective of proroguation.

So Kerr does this set a dangerous precedent where the mega-rich can take politicians to court with the intent change the law or sway political decisions for their own ends. This new kind of democracy belongs to the highest bidder

I think you lack basic comprehension of how our legal system works.

It's not about wealth. You can be a trillionaire but if your case doesn't have any legal standing or merit it will be thrown out at the earliest opportunity.
