    Just what did you expect?
I know the referendum had a vote yes or no box.... and nothing else.......simple. But what did you think was going to happen?
You voted to bring in a border on the island of Ireland. Yes...I know you will say you didn't but you did....cause that was the inevitable outcome after the vote. What else did you expect?
Could it be that just like some of your political elite over there...you didn't realize the trading border was going to become a visible border? The old issues over here had a degree of being dealt with through the hard work done under the good Friday agreement based on consent.agreed by the UK Government, the Irish Government and the USA.
It has brought a much better atmosphere and peace to the region....
It was a painstaking negotiation conducted by all involved with a much improved life experience for the people there.
BREXIT quite rightly is very upsetting to both sides of the divide because the seamless border has allowed for a remarkable change on this whole Island......
With border post...I remember them well.....you could be hours waiting to cross over from one jurisdiction to another.
So while it may mean nothing to the mainland UK.....the Backstop is important over here......and any PM over here knows it........
Well, I think the people who voted answered the question they were asked and it wasn’t their task to answer the backstop issue.

As for the political ‘elite’ this has just proven them to be ignorant, ill informed, and not fit for purpose. The Backstop like many things came at them like a rabbit out the hat. Despite that, the HOC voted for A50 twice and voted 80/20 to give the public a vote which proves the MP’s didn’t really know what they were voting for.

As for the Backstop itself; it seems to be a massive step forward for both sides of the border. What a shame the politics of the EU are cutting through common sense and dictating it has to end despite the goodwill and prosperity it’s created on both sides of the border

In 2015...the Irish delegation in the EU were already up and running looking at the possibilities of a no vote.
The answer you gave...comes with repercussions. Are you seriously saying that you never even once thought about the what the outcome could mean?
    Really?
One of the first questions looked at was the 310 odd mile border between the republic and the North.
To say it was like a rabbit out of a hat.....not good enough.
Stripes....you seem to have forgotten already...the EU did not vote the UK to leave....your own people voted to leave...
Why people seem to think you can just vote with out taking responsibility is beyond. It may have been a yes or no vote...but clearly there are repercussions to that simple vote ....which as it transpires...are not simple....
    Anyway...good night!

I never thought that democracy in Britain would be dealt such a blow by our own courts. The hypocrisy is just staggering. How can Boris be in any way anti democratic when he offered the ultimate in democracy, a general election? Corbyn is a hypocrite and a coward, as are the LibDems (what a misnomer). They should have the courage of their convictions and go to the Country. As for Ireland, I don’t think they’ve added anything to the discussions, our future should not be subject to Irish approval, whether inside or outside of the EU. If we do exit the EU with no deal, it becomes an EU matter as to what they want to do about the border. One benefit of an Irish border should be the expulsion from the UK of all the wretched Irish ‘travellers’ that have plagued this country for so many years. I have argued for Remain but we now see that the Remain position has been tainted by hypocrites; they are anti democratic, not the PM.

If you read my post my point was that the HOC debated and voted to offer the referendum in the full knowledge that it was they as elected representatives who would have to provide answers. It is they who have landed us in this current mess. The public answered the question they were asked. Sorry to differ but I think there were many pressing issues people voted on but Ireland wasn’t one of them. I think a lot of people given the choice would let the island of Ireland and Scotland for that matter get on with its own politics and deal with its own issues

As said earlier, everyone lies in politics but at least Boris does it with gusto!

Never in a month of Sundays did I believe that ANYONE in the World (that includes Trump) would actually write or say anything complimentary about Johnson.
I'd forgotten about Baggie (Uriah Heep) Al, though, who still puts him up there with his other hero Tony Pulis.

    You've gotta loff.

People shouldn't fall for this mock outrage from the left. At Council and Trade Union level, they invariably resort to personal abuse when losing the debate.

The village idiot is back!! Pulis had to go, but we could defend and sadly he was replaced by two complete numpties!

In terms of Boris - he’s shown more balls so far than anyone since Thatcher but hampered by biased and pathetic W ankers!

    Now do one you halfwit!
