They expected to win the league (just like they did when relegated from the Prem.) Had the biggest budget and players with experience of the top leagues. Finishing 5th wasn't good enough...and whilst they got excited by coming second in the reserve team cup...it's not a real final.

Ross was first choice, so even if he was going to be unprofessional enough to slag him off...it would make his own decision look worse.
