    Hard men in football

Someone (Stan or terry, I think) mentioned a midfield battle between Souness and Keane...which they said Souness would win (and I agree, totally).

You can't really be a 'hard man' in football any more because you'd be sent off practically every game nowadays...plus, most modern footballers are soft as shite. Do we miss them or was 'hard' just a 'euphemism for 'dirty'?

So who are the ones who spring to mind and who would you class as the most recent one in the Prem? And who were the hard bastards we've had in our team?

    There,plenty to discuss...get to work.

Aye, that's not a bad shout either. Erring on the 'dirty' side, I reckon but he took no shit.

He was the player that clown Clattermole wished he could be but was a million miles away. he was just a dirty little twat.

    Some good shouts...

Stu Pearce insisted on continuing play with a broken leg.

Big Al could hold of 4 players with the ball in the corner..that's really impressive...try it!

Yeah, Zip. .I think dirty can get confused with "hard", but for instance Suarez is a dirty player but not hard.

I know Shearer was known for leading with his elbows but he wasn't really a dirty player..

Then you've got the likes of Ben Thatcher and Julian Dicks...both were hard and dirty!
