Game over! Jiminez. Villa had their moments but overall didn't offer much for their fans to get excited about.
Big win!
After 4 points from the first 6 matches, we got 12 from the next 6. And a point behind 5th place!
Its great going into International break after a win.. The winning feeling last longer and its especially good against local rivals.

Anyone who hadn't witnessed the match live or on screen, and had only read the stats and looked at the score, would come to the conclusion that this was a close game. However, in reality it was anything but. As on Thursday evening Wolves looked to be in a different league to their opponents. I had gone to the game expecting more from Aston Villa, but in truth there was only one team in it in the first half.
As in the Europa league game, cross after cross fizzed across the North Bank penalty area, with Traore causing pandemonium every time he was on the ball. We could, and should have, been at least four goals up before Neves hit the sweet spot with a superb drive. The free kick awarded after Mings had produced a crude tackle on Adama who was celebrating his first call up to the Spain squad.
Villa who had used two subs in the first 45 minutes must have been happy to hear the half time whistle. Smith must have got at them because they came out in the second half a different team. For about ten minutes they showed some fight but Wolves superior quality soon put the vistors on the back foot. Traore smashed one onto the crossbar and several shots just missed the net. Villa sensed that they were still in the contest, which had it been a boxing match the referee would have called a halt in the first half.
A second goal was needed and Traore supplied the ammunition, easing past the Villa defender he looked up and played a pin point cross to Jimenez who did the rest. What a player Jimenez is turning out to be, he must be one of the best number 9s in the Premier League.
As the game drew to a close Neto who had entered the fray, broke clear and tried a shot. when a pass sideways to the waiting Cutrone was the better option. I don't think that many in the 31,000 + crowd realised that Villa had scored as play continued only for the goal line technology to intervene.
After the excellent referee on Thursday, our referee today Mr Taylor, did little to enhance the reputation of British referees. Several strange decisions frustrated the Wolves players and one such protest cost Jota yet another yellow card.
A good three points before the International break and our position in the table looks a great deal healthier than it did at 14.00 hrs today.

Thanks Norts. There are some things you can never tire of watching and that has to be one of them.
Mind you looking back at the game we killed them really didn't we? Should have been four or five at least.
[QUOTE=WOODLANDSWOLF;39361607]You’re welcome Woody.
You’re right we battered them 2-1, the silence of their fans said it all... hope they stay up though, the local derbys are a bit special.
When they set up for the free kick I said to the lad next to me Neves was going to score, can’t believe he wasn’t marked...
Alternative highlights, worth a look...
