I used to argue with you about it but I now admit you were right about the fact we should have won more trophies in the period where the likes of Inverness and Ross County won the cups.
That’s a perfectly good thing to have a go at McInnes about, personally saying he has won as many games as he has because it’s been easy for him isn’t.
If the league has been as easy as you claim then Hibs and Hearts wouldn’t have been relegated and still wouldn’t be struggling this season.
Who cares about winning league games the majority on here say we can’t win the league anyway. Perhaps we would have won more cups if he had used league games to try out different strategies and formation for semis and finals rather than simply play the same way every game.
There's no doubt in my mind that the 2014 Scottish Cup was ours to lose. 1-0 at half time in the semi final with only St Johnstone and Dundee United left in the competition.
We missed chances that day so McInnes not fully complicit but he didn't respond to what was happening on the pitch. Considine was ripped apart at left back and no attacking threat and he didn't deal with McLean/May situation which dumped us out of the cup.
For two or three years, with Sevco, Hearts and Hibs irrelevant and Septic going through the motions under Delia we should've been filling up the trophy cabinet.
European football should've been a given (as it should be now really unless there's a shock winner of the cup as we should be finishing in the top 4 at the very least) and qualifying for it was not /is not an achievement in itself.
McInnes has had a far bigger budget to possibly all of his predecessors up to Aitken.
There’s that attitude in qualifying for Europe should be a given.
Aberdeen managers have always had one of the biggest budgets in the league compared to other teams,it certainly hasn’t always been a given qualifying for Europe for them.
Alex Miller and Skovdhal had bigger budgets than McInnes has had.
Hearts were deducted points due to administration. Incidentally, we couldn't beat them that season and missed out on relegating them at Tynecastle.
Anyway, you can't tell me that it's not been easier for McInnes to get us into Europe. That's completely worked to his advantage. Case in point being now that Sevco aren't the mess they were in are now way ahead of us.
Skovdahl and Miller had bigger budgets but that's when Motherwell were paying players £10k a week and Rangers were signing players for UK record transfer deals.
I didn't ever say hearts would be miles ahead of us. I've said plenty of times that it doesn't matter how bad we play we will still finish 3rd or 4th because everyone around us is ****e as well.
If Hearts were deducted points and in a shambles then they probably wouldn't have got relegated but that really doesn't matter.
You can't tell me the league is that difficult?
