Not Mike being cheap, greedy and unambitious? Just a little bit?
No. Replacing an injured player who pulled a stunt at the last minute leaving us with no real chance to go into the transfer market to replace him. So you have to do what you have to do.

Many clubs have done similar so it's nothing new.

This did not happen. A player can only leave (unless he has a clause in his contract) if his club agrees, NUFC (Ashley) agreed.

Nothing happens by accident with SDFC.

    Yep he sure did agree.
When a club like Liverpool comes in and offers £35 million for an injured player who's tried to blackmail his way to a new contract after just signing one or hands in a written transfer request after being refused. Aye, I'd have sold him as well and I'd hazard a guess many others would've at that time.

But that's not the point Hughie was making. It was about replacing your best forward with Shefki Kuqi and you saying it was all down to Carroll, when in fact, it wasn't.

I remember it clearly. It was down to Carroll.
We had precious little time to fill the gap.

Ah right, we didn't have the time to get anyone 'over the line'. Convenient ?

I'd say it was more convenient for Carroll to pull his stunt where he couldn't lose. I'd definitely say the money was too good to turn down and due to his injury, I think we dodged a bullet, anyway.

I've only just read the article. Why the fuck is he complaining about Ashley and then saying he's getting one of the free tickets and that it'll be used by someone who wouldn't be going otherwise or-even-worse-by someone who is boycotting!!!

Fuck's sake, man....the whole point of the boycott is to damage fatso's brand. Aye, I'm glad he's not getting any more of my hard-earned money but, for me, I'm glad I'm one of the empty seats and that my missing voice is one of the thousands of missing voices contributing to the lack of atmosphere because it is working-the free half-season ticket offer is proof of that-and it will work if more people join...and I don't even think it would take many more. 42 000 and a shite atmosphere was enough to make them take this radical step and like I said on another thread, much more of this and he might be ready to crack and sell.
