Thread: Away to Arbroath.

I know, I know. In all honesty, the last victory I attended was the 2010 cup final....

I think they will start off well. At home, in front of a good crowd the atmosphere will have them pumped up. We may even go a goal down early on. It wouldn't surprise me.

However, as a full time club, and as long as we keep them in check for the first half, I reckon we will take control of the game by mid-2nd half at the latest and finish the game off in the last 20 mins. They will be knackered after 80 mins and Paul McMullan (if he is in the mood) will cause havoc.

I don't usually stick my neck on the line as much as I have done, but surely to goodness we can go there and get 3 points tomorrow?

Yes, our 1st draw of the season must be due soon. But I have faith in the team to do the business tomorrow and get the win.

    Mon United!
Tight little venue, tough battling part time team who won't lie down, but I agree. We are wanting promotion and to be able to cope in the league above. We need to have absolutely no fear of these kind of games, turn up and do a thoroughly professional job and win by 2 at least is the least we should be expecting.

I have a feeling something has to give on this run we are on and there has to be a bump in the road

Also I think they couldn't pick a better game to end the week, this will be their biggest crowd of the season and they will all be up for the biggest local team visiting, that will spur them on

Difficult one, they don't concede many at home

So your taking Arbroath on your coupon then? Good odds at 4/1.

I’m no getting this ‘take a draw’ approach. All due respect to Arbroath, they have performed admirably to date (which frankly didn’t surprise me) and yes it’s not going to be easy but then again no game in this division is. BUT, we are the League leaders, we have won 7 on the spin conceding just two goals in the process and have an international striker in our XI - we should be going there to WIN and as demonstrated since the QOS debacle that is exactly what we will be doing. No draws at all this season shows that we are not willing to play games out to just accept a point. I want this league done as early as possible so that if all comes to fruition as we hope it will, we can then start to plan well in advance for where we hope we should be moving forward.

With the other fixtures today lending the strong possibility to teams below us dropping points we need to keep the foot on the other teams’ throats and secure the three points please United.

Agreed. It's part time Arbroath FFS. We went up to the Highlands not that long ago and mauled the team currently in 2nd place 0 - 3 then went to the house of FUN and won 0 - 2. Although Arbroath should definitely be respected no way should we be thinking about a draw there.

Going for a 2-2 draw today.

Both teams have been on a great roll - so will be a tough match.

Anything can happen - but leaning towards this being a draw.

Delighted with another 3 points. Sounds like Arbroath were a wee bit unlucky not to come away with a point. But, great to see us build up a significant lead at the top.

There's plenty of football to be played in this league, so we are bound to face a few bumps in the road. But with a lead like we have achieved, we should be able to ride out any little adversities.

The 'one game at a time' philosophy appears to be taken on board by the squad and they are reaping the results of their own application and hard work. Well done boys! Just keep it going.

We deserved to win, not sure where this talk of them deserving it has come from

Farce of a ground for getting a proper match though with the wind, although enjoyable watching us battle and adapt to the elements and how it affected the game
