The ERG haven't campaigned to leave the EU to benefit the likes of me either , Singapore On Thames rather than focus on Wath Upon Dearne .

Lets see where we are in 18 months .
Good grief Animal, you sided with the Tories billionaires on Brexit, what did you expect. We've been having this coversation the past 2 years. You spent long enough whinging about the EU, dont whinge now about the reality of Brexit.

Take responsibilty for the outcome. This is your doing. Dont blame others. I will embrace it and get on with new reality.

Fair play to the girl. A woman of substance.

The country’s youngest MP has vowed to take less than half her £79,000 annual salary and donate the rest to local charities.

Labour‘s Nadia Whittome, 23, will represent Nottingham East constituents in the House of Commons after raking in 25,735 votes.

Ms Whittome, who is the daughter of working class immigrants and grew up in Nottingham, said being elected was ‘the greatest honour’ of her life.

She has pledged to only accept a ‘worker’s wage’ of £35,000 after tax, with the rest of her salary going to local causes.
Aye they all start with good intentions and change the world , give it four years of the Westminster bubble and see where her salary goes .

It's a cynical view I know and I applaud her stance but that's how it seems to go in my opinion .

I've said my vote was worthless without a Labour government gaining power at the start of this process which in reality is now or at least in the next five years .

It looks like I may have spectacularly lost and I'll accept my referendum vote could well be a costly one .

    However I didn't vote for Johnson .

All I wanted was for the Lahour Party to honour the referendum result , it wasn't much to ask for I feel .

I play life as I see it , I believe in certain things and I voted accordingly .

Nobody has to point out to me there are winners and losers in life but unlike Corbyn at least I pinned my colours to the mast who by doing nothing gave Johnson the mandate he craved .

I gave it my best shot whilst involved in the party to get them to back the result of the referendum , what more could I do as an individual .

I'll take the responsibility Wanchai but I tried desperately to leave the EU with a Labour government at the helm but it proved an impossibility given their reluctance to listen and act .

The words I'm hearing this morning is that they underestimated the desire to leave the EU in the heartlands and realise they fecked up .

You couldn't make it up .

Not usually a big issue at Xmas time because the dust has usually settled because general elections tend to be earlier in the year. Could be an issue for some on here still though:

Maybe we should call a Christmas truce on here as well.

I think the best thing to do is focus on what you have in common with folks. We are all millers fans on here for instance hopefully so that can be focused on.

Booze never helps and only inflames situations.

The other thing is its all a bit footyish in a way politics. Most reasonable people want what they see as best for everyone they just disagree about how that can be achieved. With footy, we all support the millers and want them to do well but argue about how that can be achieved.

    Whaddya think ya tory twits...

Just look at you union leader salaries, education, local council, charities etc.

    Don’t forget lecturers.

They all start with good intentions. However misguided.

Anyhow this is all your fault for believing in democracy it seems. Fancy for one minute being allowed to make your own decisions.

If the negativity continues Brexit will never work. Doesn’t mean it can’t.

I’ll wager the ‘European experiment’ will be thing of history in 40 years.

Let’s see what the next bailout brings.

I agree that the EU will probably disintegrate within a few years irrespective of whether we are in it or not. Us coming out will just speed up the process. We are still one of the major players in it, will be sorely missed, and wont be easily replaced. I will give it 5 years and that might be generous...

Flippin eck I've started agreeing with Howdy already!

Just been listening to Caroline flint talk about labour front bench, she is fuming at Kerr starmar , Emily thornbury for there lack if respect of the labour heartlands and said Emily thornbury said to her I’m glad my constituents aren’t as thick as yours” (check sky news Sophy Ridge) she also said people like them will not win back the seats they lost, which is exact same thing as I said
