Lol, I think there are a number of issues at play here. Firstly, PW makes a perfectly valid point that January signings are usually aimed at bringing players in who can improve things immediately. Secondly, it's fair to say (imo anyway) that PW's prospects of remaining manager are improved by NOT spending money. Money signings in January are risky for a manager and Warne is nothing if not cautious. Thirdly he states the prospects of a manager depend on league position. That's normally true but I'm not sure it is with RUFC and PW. I have heard several people who were very, very bullish at the start of the season (as was I as I predicted a top place finish!) now saying PW needs more time and next season we'll be much better. I can see no justification whatsoever for this but I don't make the decisions so we'll wait and see.
