I can't ever remember being this happy with a 3-0 defeat. Forget the result. The performance with 10 men from the 4th minute on was way above anything we have seen in the past half a dozen, maybe more.

No arguments with their penalty or the red card. Law of averages dictates he would get one decision right. They got away with a lot, we got away with nowt. The foul on Lowe should have been given. Many a ref would have given the penalty when when Bielik was brought down. Most would have given the Knight one.

Their 2nd penalty was also one. Fozzy only got a yellow due to the new interpretation of the "last man" Law and the double jeopardy. His foul was in a genuine attempt to get the ball so just a yellow.

Yellow cards. Way too many for comfort but many were asked for.

Bogle kicked out at his man. deserved.
Forsyth, last man and double jeopardy rule, deserved.
Malone, two anded push in the back, last defender, deserved.
Knight, left his right foot in there, asking for it to be taken. Not sure if there was contact or not. Either way, I don't think it was a penalty. If there was contact then he shouldn't have had a card.
Sibley yellow. The one weakness in the lad. He does have a temperament, however, I think it was the afters as opposed to the foul that led to his card. Foul by all means but then walk away.
Holmes, on a tightrope through the game. It was coming.
    Lawrence. Can't tackle shouldn't tackle.
Lowe. Usually very mild mannered. Brought down a couple of times but didn't get the fouls he should have, got beaten for speed a couple of times, got frustrated at the ref's homership and put ina foul that deserved yellow.

I liked the way they played when down to 10 men. We had 14 shots, they had 16. Us 7 on target, them 6. We hit the woodwork twice. It's what we want to see from the lads. Now to repeat that at Wigan and keep 11 men on the park.

Knight far and away the MOTM IMO.

The ref. Like the fans sang....... "sh*t refs, we always get sh*t refs".
Got their penos right, should have given us 2 as well. Absolute homer. Not what the fans were calling him but he is also a homer.

If this is indicative of what we have coming up in the near future then we might have a half decent season after all.

As for Lampard I really do hope they slip to defeat tomorrow, slip out the top 4 even 5 and he's sacked heading into the new year

Absolutely messed us about and Morris let him ffs. Didn't even loan us one ******* player for the trouble either.

    Piece of sh*t

Another injury now to George Evans, if we were playing in the top 6 competing and handing out thrashings then something tells me we wouldn't have all these injuries, somethngs just not right between the players and manager

More like 8m riding on it as we'd have had to pay out on FL contract if we binned him, as well as missing out the 4m compensation received

MA have to agree with most of that ,the effort was there that's all we can ask for with this poor squad Even at times we looked good just the finishing missing again Its worry that nothing's been said about a striker in Jan. Just CB and AM with a winger as well Probably going to rely on Rooney for goals Got to agree MoM Knight played really well I thought Fozzy was lucky not to get a red I was down that end and wouldn't call that a genuine attempt to get the ball Even he walked thinking it's a red I thought Hamer did well four very good saves You wrong about us playing with 10men after 4mins we actually started with 10 by selecting Lawrence . If Cocu is waiting for him to come good he's got a long wait

    No idea why...just a feeling.

Also wonder...if things had happened and been handled just slightly differently and tomorrow’s line up was...

Carson, Bogle, Keogh, Pearce, Forsyth, Ince, Thorne, Hughes, Weimann, Martin, Vydra (Manager Wassall)...

...would we be more or less confident?

GP might also be able to tell us how much money we’d have saved.
Basically you are full of false optimism, see hope where there is none and insist we are "unlucky" to be where we are!

The table doesn't lie and so much of it is self inflicted, another penalty needlessly given away, these plyers are supposed to be professionals on £10K a week and more FFS!

So now we are 11 pts off 6th place and heading for the danger zone, the team look a shambles, which to be fair has been the case since the end of September. Cannot see Cocu being in place much past the New year if this continues and Rooney joining seems to have increased the decline - wouldn't be surprised to see him get sent off in his first game tbh.

We haven't even got a winnable FA Cup tie to look forward to and ease the miser of watching this utter tosh.

You really do post some crap and I would be careful about posting insults online - Frank could decide to take umbrage and has deeper pockets than you, not that I woudl think he cares about crap spouted by an ignorant wassock like you!

Says you who doesn't have the first idea about what went on. Lampard could only respond to an offer when Chelsea made it - everything was done according to the book, permission was asked and granted and appropriate compensation paid - how is it up to either the club or Lampard as to the timing of the offer? It could have come mid season.

As has been said, how do you know we even asked for a loan player from Chelsea?

Its more and more looking like Cocu's appointment was a mistake and I'm not entirely sure what Rooney adds to the mix either, apart from an attractive financial deal.

As for Lampard he allowed time because actually didn't he want him to leave, Chelsea were waiting on Juventus to announce Sarri along with 6m compo before they could move for Lampard, yes we got caught up in the middle of it, hardly Mel's fault was it or would you rather Mel sack him and have to pay him off OR wait like he did and get 4m compo for him?

Personally I think Mel HAS made a mistake appointing Cocu but I'm not going to slate him because its not my club, its not my money and I couldn't do any better at choosing a manager.........you on the other hand are perfect, never made a wrong decision in your life and somehow think you can tell Mel to do one
I couldn't have put it better!
