Townsend isn't the best of full backs, that's why he is a reserve! As a rule reserves aren't as good as the first choice players. That seems to be the way it works. If he was as good as Gibbs then one of them would move to another club to get regular game time. Brunt is not a better left back than Townsend. His pace will always let him down. His tackling isn't up to much either. As an aside, the English language has puncuation which come in very handy when reading as do capital letters at the start of sentances.
