He was signed as a young lad with potential but was unlucky to suffer a serious injury. It's ignorant in that you reckon we should have binned him a year ago without any knowledge of what has been happening behind the scenes. Maybe the manager has watched his rehab (months of hard work - not sitting on a treatment table) and been impressed with his commitment and reckons he's someone worth giving a chance.

I would hope no lads or lasses on here get 'binned' automatically when they are unable to work thro illness or injury.

I feel really sorry for Sam, it's been a terrible time for him. I'm not sure how (from the club's perspective) anyone can say it's been anything other than a waste of a wage though

Clubs insure against this sort of thing so with regards to Csaba’s recruitment it wouldn’t even be top 10 in the waste of a wage stakes.

    Rakovan, Loemba, Rabitsch, Curran, Aird,
Barton, Booth, Frans were all given a form of pay off having had their deals terminated early.

Then you’ve got the likes of Lyng, Gillespie, Slater and Mason who although were only on the wage bill for a short time cost us any chance of promotion.

disagree, even with the sh1te you've listed there Wardrop is most defo in there with waste of a wage considering hes hardly kicked a bah in anger

Providing United have appropriate insurance in place (which given Mike Martin and Csaba were in charge it’s not a guarantee) his wages would’ve been covered. That’s not a cost to the club. Also don’t need to pay appearance fees, win bonus etc when he’s not in the squad.

I can't imagine insurance covers the club when a player is injured but will recover. As I understand it (which could well be wrong) the insurance is there for a player whose career is ended by injury.
