He'll ultimately leave, but it would be helpful if it was the summer rather than now. £1m isn't too much for the player, but, unless they issue a flat refusal to sell, the club has limited control over what 'the market' will offer. That said, there seem to be a few clubs looking for a good central defender, so who knows?
If he has a 2nd half of the season similar to first his market value should rise. Inevitable IMO he won't be with us for season 2020/21. It's all about maximising our transfer fee now.
