    Thanks.

Agreed we were always going to have a poor run, its just painful when it looks self inflicted by the manager

My recollection of what took place is

We were on good form August to Oct and Pawlett was playing a part in that including the 6-2 derby and the 6-0 v Morton, only real time we werent in form was the back to back away games at Alloa and Queens which had an international break in the middle and we weren't full strength either game just like now

Only thing you could say that may have saw our defence improve was Watson coming in and surprising everyone with how good and consistent he was (he had a total stinker vs east Fife at cb after which no one wanted to play him) after Neilson put him on in Inverness when Connolly got injured (it was more because troy brown got injured tbf as Connolly was injured in August until early November) , he kept his place for two months after Connolly returned... Only missing games after the injury at home to Hibs there in mid January so again doesn't fit the narrative

What disrupted our form was key players getting injured plus losing Stanton, powers coming in and the balance with that bit yet working, other little niggly injuries here and there seeing guys missing a couple games, it's a culmination of circumstances

One we will sort out and see us as runaway winners in 2-3 months

Struggle to give anyone passmarks tonight. Butcher possibly. Smith maybe. So many slack passes, loose balls. If we had someone who could cross a ball we'd have maybe scored. Robson must've had 10 wasted crosses. His purple patch is well and truly over and now he's back to being the Robson of old.
Pawlett again, so ****ing poor. He drives well with the ball then either runs it out of play or crosses it out of play.
Absolutely zero end product all over the park. Our final ball from both sides was awful.
As for the manager. 4-4-2 with three centre mids. Wtf is that all about?? No subs until the 77th minute.
    Poor, very very poor.

We really miss Nicky Clark in my opinion. His role in our winning run seems underrated in hindsight - started when he came back from injury and faltered when he broke his leg.
McMullan is a big miss for me.

Both of those without Shankland and we were excellent, McMullan played left

    Team was

    Seigrist
    Smith Watson Reynolds Robson
    Butcher Stanton
    Appere Harkes McMullan
    Clark

And when Shankland was available during the same run i(at dens etc) it was with McMullan back on right

    Seigrist
    Smith Watson Reynolds Robson
    McMullan Butcher Harkes Appere
    Clark Shankland

So four players different to tonight and other recent games.

Yes, that on top of the balance just playing Butcher/Harkes gave us, they compliment each others game, not just this season but eversince they were put together last January.. Lol at the stats when they start together in cm for us.

We sorely missed that in the play off vs St Mirren after Butchers injury vs Inverness in the play off semi.
