My Mrs just says, hey, you can stop that. We have to keep our distance bloody Virus😠
Ha ha that made me laugh, Dave! Try making her chocolate cake![]()
Hi guys.. good to see you all well and doing the right thing.. I’m still working but if totally honest hope later that my store is one of ones closed cos just don’t want to be around folk, sadly cos there’s proper stupid people out here ain’t there ! Don’t understand self isolation or social distancing etc !!
Anyway the wife and little jj both home so hopefully i don’t bring Virus home 😱🤔🥴
Had to move onto fosters as Stella going to quick so pop a fridge pack in whenever go to shops 😂
Stay safe everyone
Hey Dazzy! Good to see you! Take a seat. Plenty of Stella here - I was a bit worried about Exiled panic drinking it all in case it runs out, but he seems to be busy pretending he's Mary Berry in the Tavern kitchen.
I really hope your store was considered to be non essential and you are now safely home with your family. I can quite understand your concerns - even now people crowding together, and folks having bbqs in parks without care for themselves or anyone else.I was feeling really angry watching workers people having to crowd in on the tubes - I know Sadiq Khan says they are not all essential workers, but how can he be sure? The lives of the people who are braving infection to keep our country running and keep us alive seem to be carelessly and recklessly put at risk.
Anyway, rant over, It's good to see you in here again. You keep safe too, my friend. x
Exiled, I have a vision of you going round the supermarket with your trolley, waltzing past the baked beans and toilet roll aisles, and heading straight for the Stella! The important things!
Nah Winnie, I don't bother with Supermarkets for me Stella. Only 1/43 pubs in Kilkenny serve Stella so a mate of mine who has a cash n carry delivers a slab (24 cans) every week.
Don't always bother with the drink, but still kept the slab a week up for nigh on a year. So I wasn't so much panic buying as unintentional stockpiling over 12 months. I suppose this is my 'rainy day (year), so might try a few today
On the cake front Win, I don't do Choc cake, more of a Cheese scone and Welsh cake man. Did a nice Lemon drizzle cake with Salted Caramel Chocolate butter icing at the weekend, but the young Villan saw that off in no time.
Very therapeutic is baking, gives the mind something else to worry about. E.g. A cheese souffle can really set the pulses racing if it looks like it may fail to rise.
Ha ha, I wish I had a friend with a cash n carry at the moment. Always good to be prepared for a rainy year.
Well, chocolate is my fave but those all sound yummy. Actually, I like all cake - apart from coffee cake (don't drink coffee either). After reading your post I quite fancy making (and eating) some lock in cake, but running a bit low on baking ingredients, so thinking I need to be sensible and keep it for making bread if I can't get any. Not making any carrot cake?![]()
How's the young Villan coping with confinement?
He’s finding it tough Win. His school closed on the 12th and he’s had 2 weeks of homeschooling. Well, I say homeschooling, but it’s all done online, work set by the teacher, and policed by his draconian mother. I think the school is taking the p1ss tbh. He goes to an ‘Educate Together’ primary school (no religion) and the teachers are a bit wishy-washy, vegan, hippy, save the planet and love everyone type. But that’s the price you have to pay over here to avoid the poisonous religious organisations and their hocus pocus.
Anyway back to taking the p1ss. Having met his feral classmates, there’s no way that the tree huggers at the school make the kids do this much work. They are just using the more, shall we say, stricter parents to catch up with the curriculum (the homework used to be excessive, probably did fox all at school). But then again half the parents make their own clothes and eat lentils, you’d like em Win.
So the Young Villan is having it tough. Loads of school work, no Villa and no playing with his mates. He’s monstering the Xbox tho, talking to all his mates that way. Overall I’d say he can’t wait to get back to school, if not for his pals, but for the easier day with the ‘Mother Earths’ of Kilkenny.
Aww, having to do lots of homework is not fun. I always think school is for work and home is for play and relaxing until you are older. It must be pretty bad if he can't wait to go back to school!
Umm what's wrong with save the planet types etc? They sound super lovely to me.![]()

It took me a whole year to make a pencil case at school - I would never be able to make my own clothes ha ha! But maybe they could make me some.![]()
Get prepared for the 10 days of darkness. There is a hidden war going on right now against the deep state. The good will win.
How are you coping with lockdown, Freer?
I'm catching up with friends and family over the phone which has been nice to have the time to do. I think I'm going to be getting a verrry large phone bill this month (but worth it)
Btw is anyone else having trouble with mobile phone signal?
