    O/T:- Plant or eat ?

Following on from the gardening thread, we had a discussion tonight about some potatoes that have started sprouting. Do we plant them for supplies in the weeks to come or eat them before they go off ?
We're on lockdown from tonight but who would have thought we'd be here 2 months ago. How things can change.

PS... we ate them, it's not really that bad but we did have the discussion.

Quite a few years ago I found a bag of spuds in a cupboard that we had forgotten about that were sprouting like mad. Out of curiosity I planted them in the garden and they did grow. They didn't grow very big, but were nice and tasty. It's good to dig a plant up and get them straight out of the ground, but gradually the grubs started eating them so I never bothered again.

I find it is pot luck what you get from non treated seed potatoes, I have had some nice tasty ones and some terrible ones.
