Why are ordinary schools in England (with only a few exceptions due to infection) having to remain open then? Eton is not closing because of infection/self isolation, but because of the significant risk. Looks like government policy is likely to change in next few hours - due to PUBLIC pressure, not because the government wants to. Thought the government was supposed to be listening?

Are you on a wind up? Give it a rest.
That goes for others baiting on here. Sooner or later someone on here is going to lose a family member or friend.
If you wanted to make a difference why didn't you urge the PUBLIC to insist on quarantining that coronavirus Ship in February?
There seemed to be massive media interest in getting those passengers on a plane back to the UK. Wonder how many deaths in Europe can be linked to passengers on that ship.
I don't particularly believe any EU government is not acting in the best interests of it's citizens.
You should be focusing on where this virus originated and why. Oh no. lets make it political and start some sort of blame game.
If you're fit and able get off here and go and help people. If you want to isolate, turn your broadband off and give it a rest for a bit.
Grow up boys. FFS.
No, I'm not on a wind up. I'm questioning the strategy used by this government. Germany and Japan , for example, have kept the number of deaths down more effectively than the UK has. Have a look at the figures - they are widely available. I could lose a family member or friend myself, or even die, that is why I am taking this matter seriously. If you want to close your eyes to that, that is up to you.
You could argue Mike that our death to victim rate is a lot better than most country's. to date
Tomorrow owt could happen
You could argue our situation is behind the curve. As I said to Roly. Not everything has to have a blame in this world. Something's are out of our control and you deal with the best hand delt. The government thinks the strategy they are using is the correct one. Time will tell as were no way near the end of it. Maybe it would help if folk followed the government guide lines.
You are still misunderstanding me Cayton. I'm not overly critical of how the govt is handling the corona virus but we would have had a much better chance of dealing with this if we had a NHS that was stronger and geared up for it. Have you been happy with the running of the NHS in the last few years hand on heart? You seem an honest sort of chap...
And yes most govts in the world can be blamed for knowing this was coming and being complacent and not doing owt about it.
Maybe Boris can pull it off. We can only hope so but he aint playing with a good hand partly because of his own partys choosing.
Regardles of how the NHS has been run over the years were talking about the NHS dealing with a few thousand people (for today) ATM they are coping very well.
If we get to the figures of Iran/Italy ect then I don't think it would matter whatever precautions were made we would be screwed.
You can't say governments around the world have been complacent and done nowt as we don't know that. The only thing that could have been done differently is stock pile equipment and extra staff. The money isn't there to do this. Not just in our country but around the world.
What do you thing this government or any government should have done differently except throw money after money at health authorities..
