O/T Coronavirus Thread

As a lot on here know I’m a delivery driver, classed as a key worker so I’ve got to work. So far today I’ve made 15 deliveries, none of which I’d class as essential and every single one has been working as normal!

Just been out walking my dogs in the fields below where I live, plenty of all types of vehicles on the roads. Ground works working in Greasbrough Park looks like nothing has changed. I won't see my son daughter granson for a while. It's a price I'm willing to pay to keep them safe. Everyone take care and keep safe.

Government /NHS sending instructions to over-70s /vunerable people with health problems by post - so can't stop postal delivery services , unless the army is drafted in to do it

Essential shopping tomorrow, got order for food items from different pensioners on my street, ordered bread cakes in advance today, one of the pensioners is blind, lives on her own 2 doors away from me, her daughter is the the only one who enters her bungalow every day, which the daughter wears protective gloves, we keep a check on the lady, she does great to say her handicap.
Today my wife did a big Shepherds pie, with veg & good proper gravy, some taken round for the blind lady, passed to her daughter, some more for the 84 year old lady who lives on her own 2 doors the other way from us.
Has to keeping the distance from each other, the blind lady in her garden, her neighbour next door in his garden, then me in my garden, talking to each other this afternoon.

Just been on my allotted walk with the dog. I am sure that air smells fresher. We need to keep having these "pollution breaks" when its all over I reckon .

Forgive the poetry, not a poet by any means, but this poem seems apt:


“Kindness”

Before you know what kindness really is
you must lose things,
feel the future dissolve in a moment
like salt in a weakened broth.
What you held in your hand,
what you counted and carefully saved,
all this must go so you know
how desolate the landscape can be
between the regions of kindness.
