Clearly social isolation means that Sid isn't getting his usual attention levels, and as a result has to stoop to Sun level of posting to get a point across that at this difficult time for all means nothing. This is not a time for political point scoring you moron.
I tend to agree, but if Labour were in government right now would people be saying the same thing? I'm pretty certain the press would be winding people up and making it that much more difficult to implement the necessary measures. I am actually relieved in many ways that the Tories won.
I just find it irksome. Sid is removed from reality. I've lost 95% of my sales in my business in the last 2 weeks ( events related) and had to lay off several staff who I know need the money but I havent got the money to pay them. I have 3 kids to feed and the bills most definately do not stop. I then come on here for a little light relief after most probably one of the worst if not the worst week I have ever had both personally and professionally and see political point scoring posts from people who frankly should know better. The man is so far removed from reality its frightening.
Through what you have told me about your difficulties, I understand your anger and pain. If calling me a moron helps, that's fine. I'll agree to be one.
I take no pleasure in COVID-19, nor am I using it to score political points.
However, as you are an Australian these days, I'm afraid you're the one out of touch with reality. All you have to judge the position in the UK is a few sound bites and news articles.
For me to point out that the Tories have had to lay out more money in the public sector than Labour had budgeted for in the December election is a fact of life. As Elite says, with better judgement in favour of public spending much earlier in the crisis, lives and money would have been saved.
In short, Boris was guilty on a smaller scale of what Trump is hugely guilty of now. Trump's ridiculous posture whereby he rates his hunches as a better guide than the judgements of scientists will hopefully now expose him for the fool he is.
If COVID-19 leads to Trump's defeat then I would say that is one of its few good effects. At least it might give the fight against climate change a chance.
The main lesson from this virus is that we are all dependent on one another and must support each other. That is a basic tenet of socialism so i'm sorry if my saying that this ill wind has blown a tiny bit of good upsets you, Queenie, but that's my opinion. I hope things turn round for you and soon.
El Moron.

Whilst you may have a better understanding of UK politics than me, aside from your patronising remarks about my apparent lack of understanding of the current UK political scene ( just so you are aware I have an upper second class with honours degree in Political Science from a top 10 UK University) you entirely miss my point. Point scoring is not required at the moment and the incumbent party may or may not have made a mess of things, but leading a post with snarky comments is not required currently and you would do well to remember that. Show some humility.
Couldn't disagree more. If the incumbent party actually have made a mess of things (that remains to be seen), surely we should be shouting it from the rooftops rather than "showing humility". It's not point scoring ffs, it's a case of not burying your head in the sand.
