This goes much deeper than simply denying those working within the NHS and the public sector a long overdue pay rise .

This is about how much a Tory government actually values those in that demographic and how much it really values the people who use and have to rely on public sector services .

Clearly in 2017 they didn't find any value at all and celebrated triumphantly when they voted not to value them at all to boot .

Now they say they do value them , not because they actually do but because the pandemic has had to force them to .

There's a significant difference , I'm so sorry for what I did is different to saying sorry because you were caught out .

That's the crux of the matter and I suspect where Exile is coming from .

Let's not forget the NHS and the public sector have had the sharp end of ideological austerity for a decade , the pandemic is relatively weeks old .

Don't be kidded for one minute the tory government have suddenly discovered a heart and a soul , they've been forced down this road .

    Significantly different .

Great points and well put. We need to value our nurses all of the time not just at the time of a crisis then forget about them again. Nurses were working under unbearable pressure before all this but unfortunately this is lost on some. Unless things improve in the NHS after this is all over they will revert back to this pressure...

Come on Boris get back to number 10 and make the NHS your top priority after this. You know it makes sense...

Yes or no answers will do. And please don't blow a fuse because there is no need they are just very simple questions. I promise not to judge your answers or take issue with them, Cant be fairer than that can I?

    Thanks for that Cayton...

Another couple of questions for you cayton if you dont mind.

Do you think the govt should value the work the nurse do in hospitals y or n?

    if your answer is y

DO you think a 1% pay rise for nurses shows that nurses are valued by the govt bearing in mind the stresses they have?

Again I will not comment on your answers thanks

    A well put post Animal.
Tbh I don’t get involved with political arguements (that’s what most are) I’m not here to talk about what has been or should have been done in the past, I’m here for what’s is being done now and what 5hey are trying to do to beat a serious virus.
Some are on here with their opinions on what they think are right and no other opinions is allowed unless it’s in agreement with them.

There is no need for some posts that’s on here but some can’t help themselves or just get some obsessive pleasure from it.

That’s all I’m saying on the matter
