Love it.
Shearer had to be upfront and i'd guess got 2 of the goals?
And the only spuds player i can think of from that era that joined us was Stephen Carr?
Edit: Actually - 03/04 that must be Woodgate in CB position as well?
The first one went well, let's try another round - thanks for participating!
This time there are even more players to guess + a couple of bonus rounds. This team beat the mighty Spurs 4-0 at St. James' Park during the 03/04 season of the Premier League.
GK Given
RB Hughes CB --- CB --- LB Bernard
RW --- CM Dyer CM --- LW ---
ST --- ST ---
Substitutions:
Out of the three substitutions NUFC made that day, one of the players who got subbed on was a young Darren Ambrose.
The two other players that came on later were our number 4 and 5 at that time. Who are they?
Bonus round 1:
Two players each got two goals that day. Who are they?
Bonus round 2:
Additionally, you will receive extra plaudits if you can guess which Spurs player on that day later would become a Newcastle player.
Love it.

Great game...
Mmm..
Starting players..Dabizas, Woodgate, Speed, Solano, Robert, Shearer, Bellamy?
Subs.. Lua Lua, Jenas?
Oh, doubt Lua Lua was a number 4 or 5...I'll swap my guess for O'Brin.
Carr for Spurs as Jammy said...
And Shearer and Robert with the 2 goals each...
Great stuff, Hughie.
I'm going for O'Brien and Dabizas as the two starting CBs
Possibly Craig Moore and Woodgate coming on?
Nobby on the right wing and Bowyer alongside Dyer?
Sherarer up fron with.....dunno, Bellamy?
Nicky Butt for midfield
Correct so far:
Woodgate was one of the centre backs. Still missing the other one.
Shearer was one of the strikers up front. Still missing his partner on that day.
Shearer and Robert, who played on the left that day, got both goals.
Gary Speed was on the right wing/side of the midfield that day.
Our no. 5 who was subbed on was indeed Andy O'Brien.
And finally, Stephen Carr played for Spurs that day and later joined NUFC (not on the same day ).
Well done!
Still missing:
Our no 4. that came on as a sub has been mentioned in the thread, but only as a starting player and without his number being mentioned in connection to him. You may take another shot.
We are missing Woodgate's partner in central defence, Kieron Dyer's partner in central midfield and Shearer's partner in attack.
Shoot!
Speed was on the right...so he was replaced by Nobby...who of course wore the No.4! Doh!
