I took “she who must be obeyed” there for our first posh date. (Fish and chips, Dandelion and Burdock, and the Beehive (our very first date)
Saw The Who at The Belfry very early 70's it was bonkers in such a small venue.

Saw the Who at Mothers just after release of Tommy. After we had battled our way up the rickety EXTERNAL wooden staircase, we entered a room which was several degrees up from a Turkish Bath! Half the audience passed out with the heat, including Keith Moon (however, his unconsciousness may have been down to other reasons!). Totally mental night. I had been leaning against an emulsioned wall and got out to find my shirt had changed colour. Ah the good old days before elf & safety!

All these memories from the 70's with some acts I recall seeing. Used to love a night out

    West Brom
    Sandy's-Lenny Henry Bernard Manning

Steering Wheel Club-Freddie and the Dreamers

One in Wednesbury can't remember the name been trying to forget the girl (shudder)

    Brum

Dolce Vita-night club upstairs disco down- Dave Allen and a topless girl band. A fine ensemble they were too.

The Night Out-Frankie Vaughan he was very good. Tommy Cooper saw him 10 years later and his act was the same

Rebeccas, Barbarellas, Rum Runner, Romulus, Top Rank, Tower Ballroom grab a granny on a Wednesday night, one above the ice rink in town

Don't think they have the slow dances at the end anymore. If we hadn't scored by the time they started we used to call any girl we chose to dance with with 10 to 2ers

    Happy blooddy days
923 the wednesbury club was the bolero later the montessa.i had some great times there mate.

The Montessa it was April 1974. Special reason for remembering the date but that's for another time.

I came back to my mates from the dance floor (remember when blokes only danced with birds) to proudly boast I was walking this girl home and was probably onto a sure thing. I distinctly recall my mate saying "Have you looked at her. Have you actually looked at her face" Her mates were probably saying similar.

Still in those days it was very much a case of 'Any holes a goal'

    Happy days

I left in 1970 but was back quite a bit. I still cannot picture The Dome. Where exactly was it?

Went to The Belfry once. We walked into the bar area and was immediately greeted by the sight of a really big punch up getting under way. I cannot remember much else about it.

Fairly sure The Dome didn't open until the 70's
