You have two cows .. your neighbour has none. The State take one and give to your neighbour who eats it.

    CONSERVATISM

You have two cows. You keep both and sell the milk. With the profit you buy another cow and eventually you have a herd. You employ people to process the milk and also to sell it. All these people pay taxes into the economy, as does the herd owner who becomes wealthy.

Your neighbour is full of envy but will never admit he is a loser.

Now I know for a fact you said the other week that you hate it when people add, or take something away from others posts. What's changed ?

Nobody would have answers in unprecedented times like this Lefty. Only option was to let the State intervene on a temporary basis until plague is sorted. Damage to the economy will be a big blow so a good job not a permanent Socialist ideology is in place. Will take a little time but our lads will get it back on track and no tough austerity measures will be needed.

ps Yes I substituted the Conservatism word. Basically the same to me.

Yes, she’s put her name forward to go to one of the Nightingale hospitals.

Seriouspie, your simple analogy is perfect for the simple-minded. Where does the current situation fit into that? Where do poor employers fit into that? Where do the people who this thread is about fit into that? The poor? The disabled? Elderly? The vulnerable? The mentally ill?

How much tax does your cow owner pay? Enough to look after all of the above? Or does he vote for the people where he will pay the least, and all of the above suffer the most?

Even under Thatcher, the Tories accepted a mixed economy. Capitalism knows no compromise. If you can't hack it, you're stuffed and tough titty.
As a Socialist, I too believe in a mixed economy. There are areas where competition is efficient and encourages initiative.
