He was successful because he isn't a "professional politician" and because he improved the economy and cut unemployment.

But now the virus has undone all his good work with the economy and unemployment is going to be higher than when he was first elected so now you just have someone with verbal diarrhoea.

He could still win in November though because Biden isn't exactly inspiring either.

    It doesn't show.

Are you Mikey's official spokesperson now?

I think the notion that Covid has bolloxed Trump is superficially attractive, especially given the distance created by the Atlantic, but I'm not sure that I agree with it.

It's hard to measure and determine the impact of the cult factor that surrounds Trump. Just like a recently stood down party leader from the UK (who I will not name for fear of causing Mikey to melt down and start making random posts about junior doctors), his supporters have elevated him to a semi -religious state in which what he actually does and says and stands for matter far less than their distorted perception of the same.

As for November, it seems to me that the Americans will be in a similar position to that of the UK electorate in 2019 -having to choose on the basis of which leader they find the least unpalatable.

I am also the most modest person I I know Kerr!

I can't speak for mikemiller because I don't know the facts one way or tother. But all I can say is if Monty had sent me an email with his details I would be wondering what his motive was in light of the 'recent abusive posts he had put on here about me. One of his more abusive ones has been taken off I think by the way.

roly I wish I could share your view that we can't go back to where we were but sadly I think the forces of capitalism & greed will prevail once again [in due course]

I'm sure they will in reality exile. We can only hope some sense will prevail or the next crisis we will not be able to control will be an environmental one. The world needs to learn from this. Here is an open net don't miss the chuffin chance is what I say...

That's if you think climate change is man-made, otherwise you believe that the climate will change like it's always done, regardless of the species living on it.
