I don't doubt they're doing their best but it doesn't seem an unreasonable ask that a country like ours can turn out PPE at short notice without importing Chinese cr*p. It also doesn't seem unreasonable to ask why there was no contingency in place for a viral pandemic with stockholding of PPE.
Following on from the swine flu epidemic the French stocked huge quantities of surgical masks. Two years later this decision was widely criticised as a waste of money and stocks were drastically reduced as it was decided to rely on Just in Time deliveries from China. The Yanks under Obama followed a similar course. Hindsight hey!
