On greed I think you must be towards the top of the list with your freqent skiing trips ,your travels to the south of France ,your visit to Paris to watch the Six Nations your trip to St Lucia & judging by your life style many other trips abroad don't preach about greed
Your ability to get the point whilst simultaneously missing it is a sight to behold, Zyles. It's a talent.

Through a combination of luck and hard work, I have achieved a lifestyle that is comfortable by the standards of many. The point is, however, that you and Roly have, in relative terms, a comfortable lifestyle too. Every day thousands of people mortgage themselves to people traffickers and take their lives in their hand in the back of containers or in small boats to try to get to this country in order to have a bit of what you take for granted.

Roly demands that we address climate change whilst simultaneously defending his right to eat red meat and drive into the Peak District instead of walking from his home. He has defined a decent standard of living as one foreign holiday per year. And that’s the point too. People are great at talking about change, but scratch beneath the surface and it’s generally the case that they think that it’s other people who should be doing the changing.

Seriously though, this government are big believers in league tables for schools... surely they must apply that to themselves? We have been one of the worst in the coronavirus "league tables", and what would happen in a school is that it would be put under "special measures" and the people in charge removed... so time to say goodbye , Boris?
Which Covid 'league tables' are you talking about, Mikey?

As far as I can see, the NHS has never been overwhelmed in the manner that we all feared. I have heard nothing to suggest that people who need ventilation have been denied it. The supply of PPE has been pushed very close to breaking point as it was always going to be, but, on the face of it we have just about coped.

There are questions to be asked about testing and whether capacity could have been built more quickly, but we started from a low base and it was always going to take time.

This pandemic has been a catastrophe for the world and for many individuals and families. We should look carefully in due course to see what lessons can be learned, but I think we should also call out the behaviour of some people – mainly from the Left in my experience – who seem to want it to be worse than it actually is in order to fulfil some of their political fantasies.

I have never cruised - the idea just doesn’t float my boat, but I did do a bit of sailing in Saint Lucia.

Any why would we want to turn voters off by 'labels'. The policies are what matters.

I personally don't think Kerr is phony. I think he is genuinely disaffected right wing of the party. And if you read the recent leak on how the senior leaders of the PLP sought to undermine Corbyn over his leadership, his own extremist vitriol comes over quite authentic. But I think the time has come on the Labour Party to get behind a unification person and I hope that Starmer can do that. From my reading and talking, the left of the party (although prob not extremists) have been guardedly grown up about Starmer and want to see him do well, much more than you can say for the dispiacable, shameful antics of the right since 2015. But we have to put that behind us now and pull together. I don't want a Blair part 2 replica if our policies can be both more radical and credible at the same time, but I want us to learn from the defeats in the last 10 years with different offers (not just the left under Corbyn) and regroup. As part of this I don't feel any need to cling on to terms that make whatever policy offer we put out in an immediate negative light (although I agree that any perceived threat to wealth will always be distorted by the media on the behalf of their paymasters). Just have to find ways of boxing cleverer than them, and if that means prioritising policies, so be it in my opinion. We can't do owt from the outside
Blimey, raging, a bit of change of heart there from constantly telling me I’m a Tory. How did that Damoclean conversion come about?

You were doing fine until you mentioned ‘the recent leak’. That will be the ‘report’ commissioned by Corbyn supporters and aimed at supporting the narrative that Corbyn was right? The report that involved the investigation of communications by Labour employees without notice and without a right of response? The report that was then posted –unredacted- online, exposing those Labour Party employees to threats and abuse?

The whole affair is merely another demonstration of how far the Labour Party has sunk. Perhaps Mikey should explain to the Labour Party that they are supposed to be the party for the rights of workers as opposed to being one that expends a significant degree of effort in throwing some its own employees under the Social Media bus? I can see the party ending up in a few Employment Tribunals off the back of it, to add to what should be the shame of being investigated by the Equality and Human Rights Commission. It's certainly another nail in the coffin of my ability to contemplate voting Labour

I think as long as millersmadsters take him with a pinch o salt and not believe what he says too much as i have come to do, they will be ok.
Thank you for your concern, Roly, but I am aware of the relevant law and comply with it. Mikey’s fantasies are not admissible in evidence.

So it’s that pesky unintelligent/uneducated electorate again, who simply do not share your level of insight and understanding?

I don't know about four more years of Tory government, it’s more likely to be forty if your arrogance is typical of the mood within the Labour Party. Lisa Nandy seems to have got it, but it seems to have passed you by.

Kerr is an obvious fake character and wind up merchant. Who cares what he thinks? You would be mad take him seriously. For example he claims to have represented "Left wingers" in court. You can choose who you like as our legal representative in court - would any "Left winger" choose a red-baiting Tory to represent them? Obviously they wouldn't.
Also he is very careful not to mention the exact nature of his job. For example, claiming to be a barrister when you are not qualified is a jailable offence - his legal knowledge does stretch that far, but probably doesn't go much beyond that. Will his ego gets carried away and lead to a mistake?
Sorry, nearly missed this one, Mikey.

When have I said that I have represented Left wingers? I used to be retained to provide services for the members of a particular Trade Union, but I’m not sure that TU membership is a reliable indicator of political persuasion any more. I did represent a group of animal rights activists who I would imagine would identify as being of the Left had I asked, but I didn’t because it wasn’t relevant.

I represented a hard core football hooligan a few years ago. Again, I didn’t ask about his politics, but I would imagine that he was of the extreme right.
