Who Am I Quiz (No 40)

Life begins at 40. I'll post new clues regularly (at least daily). I won't be responding to guesses until someone is correct. Guess as many times as you like. There's no O/T in the title so obviously it's football related. Here we go. Good luck.

I was the first player to do something in the land of my birth.

I won English and European honours.

I played for a team you would associate with Tetley.

I scored a goal that became a feature in popular culture.

Take a Miller from me and you'd be left with some v.ital energy and a precious stone.

    I played for my country.

I went on a march but it wasn't with Oliver's Army.

I had a brief spell in management and played a part in a team first.

Well done GF, got there in the end. Was it by deduction?

    I am Archie Gemmill

I was the first player to do something in the land of my birth. First tactical substitute ever used in Scottish football.

I won English and European honours. 3 League Titles, 1 European Cup at Derby/Forest

I played for a team you would associate with Tetley. Jacksonville Tea Men in the North American Soccer League

I scored a goal that became a feature in popular culture. My goal against Holland in the 1978 World Cup was featured in Trainspotting when a VHS tape of 100 Greatest Goals got swapped with a home made p.orn film.

Take a Miller from me and you'd be left with some v.ital energy and a precious stone. Archie Gemmill - A Miller = Chi + Gem

I played for my country. Scotland

I went on a march but it wasn't with Oliver's Army. It was with Ally's Army.

I had a brief spell in management and played a part in a team first. Rotherham's Auto Windscreen triumph at Wembley.

    Unpublished clues

I played with, followed then partnered with a fellow countryman. John McGovern

I went to great lengths to make sure my son could follow in my footsteps. Drove my wife up to Scotland to make sure our son, Scot Gemmill was born there.
