Just heard a podcast with the Peterborough chairman he says if they dont play the games of the season it coukd cost them £700-800k in what they might have to give back tv deals, sponsors, ST money etc.
He speaks a lot of sense on it and is attacking negative journos and saying players at lower end will play as most arent qualified to do other jobs etc.
Qualified? A huge proportion of workers are not qualified. Stacking shelves, delivery driving, fruit picking etc are all jobs readily available.
What he meant was professional athletes in the lower leagues earn decent money and it’s beneath them to go and do these kinds of jobs.
A lot of footballers will need to start thinking about there future salary demands as clubs won’t be paying the wages they are used too, in fact thousands will be out of a job in June with the real possibility of no contract offers from clubs until a definitive start date to next season is provided
No that isnt what he meant and lots of Peterborough players come from non league etc so would have had jobs before.
I guess he means Electrician plumbers building type of work where you need to learn your craft.
As if lower league footballers are minted !

Honestly, I'd rather they settled promotion and relegation places over a few games of "Bubble football" matches than on a sheet of paper.
As for the French, it should be pointed out that it was the government who made the decision and that PSG, handed the title, were 12 points clear with a game in hand. In Holland, where the government also made the decision, Ajax and Alkmaar were joint top with 9 games to play, they decided to null and void with no champions but both Ajax and AZ Alkmaar will go into the Champions League qualifying stages, pending ratification by Uefa.
