I think it is going to be a while before the after effects of this virus on football finances are known.How many Clubs will have to fold both in and out of the top four divisions? When do we re-start? What are the TV contract situations? How many supporters have been "lost" etc etc.

Whatever your politics the cost of this virus on the public purse is unprecedented plus the fact that public perception will have changed as to what is important..

I don't know for example whether VAT is paid on transfers but one idea could be to introduce,say,a 30% tax charge on transfers which would to some extent limit the amount of money being splashed about,particularly with the likes of Newcastle and others being taken over by wealthy foreign earners.Another idea maybe to make very high salaries across the board being more readily available to the public together with the level of salaries of the important people who are lowly paid.Review the tax priorities and double the taxes on cars costing over £50k for example plus introducing CGT on privately owned properties sold for £1m plus.
