Apparently it's because the island has quite a large population and it has restricted movement because the ferries are running so infrequently so hardly anyone is arriving on the island or leaving it .

One or two things might distort the results

-the larger than average number of older residents who stay at home

-the lack of movement to jobs due to tourism/ hospitality being closed down

- the absence of tourists moving about

-the relatively low population density and absence of a crowded large city
Barnsley MBC population 245,199 Area 127 sq miles
IOW population 141,538 Area 147 sq miles

-the 97.3 % White, 1.2% Asian, 0.2% Black population make up of the population in view of BAME population being more affected
