Thread: Dode Fox podcast

Thoroughly enjoyed the Andy Gray episode.
I remember, very well, his full debut headed goal against East Fife that he talked about. It wasn't from 16 yards though . . . it was 25 yards!

I have always thought that Andy Gray's transfer should stand as a lesson to United, and to all other Scottish clubs. I think we got £110,000 for him. But if we'd waited a year, two years perhaps, until he was a Scotland player or the publicity circus around him had grown even bigger, we'd have doubled that money easily.

Really enjoyed it. Couldn't praise wee Jim enough. Class player would have loved seeing him play in Tangerine. Loved it when he said that United sold him for £110000 in 75 . 4 years later goes to Wolves for over a million then back to £110000 in 83 to Everton. Just shows how a player's form dips then picks up again. He had 2 great years at Everton. Mind his goal against Watford in 84 FA Cup final. Wouldn't stand nowadays.

Jim was in tears when the transfer went through,i was just getting on the bus to Parkhead when the story broke and everyone was gutted. The club learned a massive lesson from Gray's transfer to Villa though.

The Podcast Ferrymen mentioned the Ferry at the end of the Andy Gray episode but weren't prepared to explain its relevance. Pity cos they could have given UnitedMad a plug. I'm sure this thread has increased their listeners.

I went out with a girl from the Ferry for a while so I kinda know what Terry's driving at!

We all know what he is driving at but I was waiting/hoping on him actually telling us.
Everybody in the Ferry can't all be the same of course.
