The only thing that's unclear is the number of teams in the play offs - in the EFL it will be 4 (assuming this gets voted through), but it is still possible that it may be 6 in the NL. I say this because the EFL was always set to be 4 teams and i think the confirmation of that is just to kill off the Sunderland etc idea in L1 of an extended 8 team play off.
If the NL play offs were to be 6 teams it wouldn't affect Notts chances as they would still start at the Semi-Final stage - but it might effect who they play. There are I think 4 scenarios;-
1) 4 team play off (including Boreham Wood)
Harrogate v Boreham Wood and Notts v Yeovil
2) 4 teams (but no Boreham Wood)
Harrogate v Halifax and Notts V Yeovil
3) 6 teams play off (including Boreham Wood)
Harrogate v Boreham Wood/Halifax and Notts v Yeovil/Barnet
4) 6 teams play off (but no Boreham Wood)
Harrogate v Halifax/Barnet and Notts v Yeovil/Stockport.
I think that Boreham Wood will probably play - but who knows?
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but just a thought, if Macclesfield were to go under, would the EFL reprieve Stevenage or would they bring 3 up?
Pretty sure theyd get a reprieve, i think thats what the EFL are kind of hoping for in a strange twisted kind of way!
Macclesfield need a 6 point penalty off the EFL (for failure to play players on time in March, not as I originally thought for not fulfilling a fixture) and that would mean on PPG they would end up below Stevenage. That sounds a lot - BUT they already have a 2 point penalty suspended which would get activated - so actually it only needs a 4 point additional penalty to send them down which is possible as it's far from their 1st offence.
Might be a little premature, but congrats China, looks like you're about to finally become a Football League Club once again.
Can't see any scenario now where you'll be denied other than NL not being able to get next season started which apparently means the EFL won't relegate, which would leave only one place open again and might complicate things, but you'll probably have been confirmed by then and it would be the play off winner denied.
Gloves were off whilst it was all up in the air but the very best of luck to you.
If the NL are unable to start next season I dont see how we would survive ....??
Cant just take a year off we'd have zero staff only the Reedz brothers as we certainly couldnt pay everyone from the tea lady, club shop all the way to players/management.
After watching the interview yesterday, I have very little confidence we'd win the semi-final, never mind the final, I didn't detect a slither of desire. There might be a very good reason for that, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes, players may have been affected or there's enough of them worried enough to not want to play, but short of another interview that suggests otherwise, I feel we've already conceded defeat.
We'll have to throw our support behind Yeovil, or if they're up for it - Stockport would be a bit of fairy tale after what they have been through.
