Understand where you are coming from but I think this will blow itself out well before the 18 month mark.

There will be an increasing level of immunity as it spreads through the population, the evidence suggests that it attacks blood vessels, which is bad in one way, but gives hope for a vaccine as there a number of drugs available which treat other blood cell diseases. It will take more than 18 months to "blow" itself out. However, peoples perception of risk will fall as deaths reduce, but the poor sods who have some vulnerability will remain at risk.

SARS, MERS etc didn't take 18 months to "blow out". Interested why you think their cousin will take that long.

ICU specialists over here have noticed that thrombosis occurs with about half of the CV-19 patients that end up in IC. That leads to renal failure in roughly half of those getting thrombosis. Thrombosis also causes heart and lung issues for patients. There has also been some brain damage spotted in some autopsies. They think that it's the virus itself doing the damage rather than thrombosis thickened blood.
