I have got a Bergen plate in my room which is from the pay staff of the 14/20 Kings Hussars(Bergen being a small town in West Germany where i served).The inscription is to Lance Corporal Jock ..... .
My name is not Jock but i never had a problem being called that whilst serving with English soldiers.When i served with the 1st Battalion The Black Watch in West Belfast the English were FN over the moon when the Jocks patrolled with them,FACT.

Why would anyone have a problem with being called jock......it's bizzare.....maybe a problem with it being rather unoriginal.

We have 3 poles at the golf, north, South and greenie.

Not one soldier in the Black Watch had a problem with the term Jock,it was looked on as a badge of honour when the English said"phucking hell here come the Jocks."
A private soldier in the Black Watch was referred to as a Jock,i could be wrong here but i'm sure it was even used on the parade square during marching drills.
