I think what Mrs O is saying is, (and I think it's in reply broadly to your 'pyrrhic victory' post), that, notwithstanding the difficulties CV19 is posing to British clubs, things were already in a mess due to Brexit, in terms of player status, club finances, media tie-ins etc, and because of that, if we do go up, opportunities for the club to become more community orientated are likely to be very limited if there is an ambition to 'dine at the top table' i.e. challenge the big six. Unless on the other hand we are bought by some huge (aka rich) corporation or benefactor, and thus have access to much larger funds than otherwise - but this also comes with it's own risks e.g. the relationship faceless corporation owned clubs have with their fans.

So in other words, it's not going to be a land of milk and honey in the PL.

I think the lack of a "milk and honey" scenario in the PL was precisely what I was describing in my post that depressed everyone! I appreciate that Brexit would have an impact quite apart from Covid-19, but let's not ignore the fact that we're talking about organisations that turnover tens if not hundreds of millions of £ per annum, and MUST have been pllanning to mitigate those (Brexit) impacts. Covid is a separate issue, and is, frankly, of much greater impact to the fans, and the revenue expectations of the clubs..

As for community engagement/orientation, I see no reason why Brexit should have any effect on that, given what I said about organisations planning to work with changing political/economic circumstances/requirements, but most certainly Covid will.
