80 years ago today with no ammunition left the gallant 51st Highland Division finally surrendered at St Valery en Caux.They had lost thousands of men dead and injured and even in places resorted to fighting the Germans hand to hand and withstood the Wehrmacht for 10 days whilst the rest of the BEF were rescued from Dunkirk.
I would hope that tomorrow during their demonstrations the BLM protesters will give thanks to the 51st for making their defiance possible,FACT.
