80 years ago today with no ammunition left the gallant 51st Highland Division finally surrendered at St Valery en Caux.They had lost thousands of men dead and injured and even in places resorted to fighting the Germans hand to hand and withstood the Wehrmacht for 10 days whilst the rest of the BEF were rescued from Dunkirk.

I would hope that tomorrow during their demonstrations the BLM protesters will give thanks to the 51st for making their defiance possible,FACT.

I am not moaning though i'm accepting the past for what it is and moving on.I really cannot understand what you mean about Germans being murdered,their losses at the battle i mention above were very light and it was war.

Pipers played across 4 continents yesterday to mark the anniversary of the 51st's last stand at ST Valery,it was not just myself who remembered them.

Very disappointed to see they have had to board up a statue of Winston Churchill in London.I am not his biggest fan but he deserves his place in history for good and bad.
Black lives do matter of course but they need to concentrate on the now and leave the past alone,i will not toe the English line of,"We could all be speaking German without the intervention of Churchill."
The Russians defeated the Nazi's losing millions of people in the process but Churchill did lead Britain in its darkest hour and its a disgrace that his statue is a target.

You see this is what I don't get, he makes racist video in an airport mocking an Asian man re Coronavirus and gets a £50k fine and a 1 match ban from football. What has this incident got to do with football? He should have been dealt with in the courts. If you or I done this we wouldn't banned from our work for a day we'd be right doon to Bell St then dealt with by the Procurator fiscal.

Wonder if he'll pay his £50k fine a fiver a week.
