If Harrogate go up and we don't they will definitely be a bit better off financially next season. Do they vote sportingly or with self interest?
Well yeah if looked at like that.

The league should make decision or the teams in the play offs only is my take on it.

I guess it depends if clubs fancy a crack next season at going up an example Wrexham would prefer us or Yeovil out the way than Harrogate we should find out by the end of the week.

Thanks for the ifo, I was worried they would not have time for a full preseason.

I've had a quick scout around the websites of the play off contender's and it appears all of them have managed to retain the majority of their playing staff. So recent form, team morale and confidence will still be a contributing factor however due to the long break and lack of training it might be preparation and fitness that plays the biggest part.

    Isn’t it always?

I think Notts and Harrogate will be at an advantage especially if the league decides on Saturday QF, Tuesday/Wednesday SF and then the final on following weekend. We would have several extra days training to prepare whilst the other 4 teams would be playing and resting.
Yes we won’t get the advantage of that one game, but will that really make that much of a difference? Time will tell.

Looking at Halifax Town twitter they have put that if the vote goes for the playoffs they would be away in the first game in the 18th July! So loads of time to prepare. Even get in some friendlies for fitness. Forest and Derby might need to keep some fringe players game fit

I would agree with you and I'm sure friendlies will already have been arranged, assuming the opposition are in a covid safe situation.

I think the motion is going to pass.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong with how this works.

The obvious opposition is going to come from NLN, NLS and Harrogate, right?
I doubt it'll be a clean sweep in those 6th tier leagues, so let's say 7 of 8 vote against.

Barrow, 5 play-off teams will vote for , 2 NL teams who should be relegated should vote yes too (the other relegated 2 - no maybe).
So far that's 9 for, 10 against - leaving 13 mid-table clubs, holding the balance of power. 8 are needed to pass. The motion's fair, it's good for the credibility of the league. I don't think they'd be petty looking at travelling distances and an extra 100 on a gate, they'd prefer to see an proper end to the season...imagining if they had made a play-off place...

If it doesn't squeak through, the second motion would probably be based on more relegation/promotion between the NLs?
That would pass with the play-off untouched.

    Is this how it's working?

We might find that some of the teams around the playoffs vote for them, with the hope that if others, like Harrogate, vote against it in the playoffs they get there spot.

If any clubs who aren't involved in playoffs or relegation do vote against then away fans should boycott them next season. There is no reason a club not involved should vote against the resolutions. None.
