Macclesfield Town say their suspended two-point penalty has been activated, ensuring their League Two survival.

A deduction of three points or more for misconduct would have seen the Silkmen drop below Stevenage and be relegated into the National League.

An additional four-point penalty was imposed but suspended for the 2020-2021 season.

"The previously issued League Two standings are therefore unaffected by this," said a club statement.

"The Silkmen conclude the 2019-20 campaign in 23rd place - albeit with an amended final total of 23 points."
